Paige received an email (sent to all parents) from the principal of the middle school asking all parents to not allow their children to use Social Networking sites, such as Facebook, the wildly popular social networking tool. Teens are using Facebook like we used to use phones. This is their chosen form of communication along with texting. We have some opinions on this (shocked?) and would love to get your feedback!

I know. We’ve been remiss at posting shows on a regular basis! Things have been quite busy at our houses. We’ve also been working hard on our video show! I spoke with Bette Midler and Paige spoke with Christina Applegate, James Marsden and Mr. Tinkles! By the way, we loved the movie. Its a fun family movie that both you and the kids will love!

In this show, Paige and I discuss our plans and strategies for the summer with our kids. I know many of you are about ready to start school again. However, our schools get out late, late, late (end of June). We are just getting our summer started! Wow! Where did the time go? Our oldest boys are seventeen now. Yes, we’re surviving. But people aren’t kidding when they say the junior year is the hardest. It has been a tough go. They are both great kids. But we have really had to have all eyes on them all the time. (They love it. Really, they do). Any tips for surviving the senior year? Anyone? Our song is San Juan Man by Gypsy Foot.

If it hasn’t hit your house yet, it will. Nintendo just recently launched Pokemon SoulSilver and HeartGold. This is a huge launch for Nintendo! Paige and I had the pleasure of talking to Seth McMahill, Assistant Manager for the Product Marketing Department for Nintendo about the SoulSilver/HeartGold launch. The games hearken back to the Pokemon Silver and Gold versions. So, there’s nostalgia for those who played the games years ago. But, there is so much new too! Including the introduction of the Pokewalker. Nintendo continues to try and get kids moving by taking pedometer technology and folding it into Nintendo game fun!
