Come on people! Its time to shape up and realize that cell phones are becoming a real public nuisance. We need to learn some etiquette regarding cell phones. I’m tired of hearing everyone’s cell phone ringers and intimate conversations. Not to mention people randomly walking with one attached to their ear, getting in everyone’s way. We reference an article by Jan Faull from Parents.com entitled Teaching Kids Cell Phone Etiquette. But, I think we all need to learn this lesson! Our song is Sensational by John Zielman and the Selves. Thanks to Dixie for sponsoring our show!

Hi, my names Sarah and I’m 37 years old and I have 2 kids. I love them very much, but my nine year old is driving me crazy! She has recently been begging me for a cell phone and says that ALL of her friends have them. Is this true? Because I find it rather hard to believe. But who knows. Do you think I should allow her to have one? Please give me some advice!!

Hey Sarah. I’m Karen and I went through the EXACT same thing with my girl. Her names Tori and she used to be nine. But now she’s 13. But when she was about 10 she begged me for a cell phone and I said well baby you just need to wait until your old enough to be responsible for one and when I know I can completely trust you. And of corse that didn’t work. She threw a HUGE fit. She screamed she cried. But now that she’s older she knows where I was coming from and respects my decision more. So hang in there and I promise it will be worth it in the end.
